Supreme Court Upholds the Second Amendment

The Second Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees the right to bear arms. For a long time, gun control advocates have been insisting that the Founding Fathers intended for the Second Amendment to support a militia; while gun control opponents have insisted they meant for each individual to have the right to bear arms.

In the District of Columbia, the gun control advocates won and our nation’s capital was subject to some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation. Of course, it didn’t stop violent crimes from taking place, including crimes committed with a handgun.

This morning, the Supreme Court handed down a decision this morning interpreting that the Founders intended for every individual to have the right to bear arms!
