(disclaimer: “This is a Second Amendment post.”)
While I was surfing the news web this morning, I came across this story. Apparently, a *volunteer* security guard stopped a shooting in progress at a church in Colorado, using her personal firearm. The pastor of the church says “She probably saved over 100.”
The security guard rushed the gunman as he entered the hallway, shot him once, which caused him to fall to the ground, then told him to surrender his weapon. When he reached for what may have been a grenade, shot him a second time and killed him.
This lady, who was brave enough to bear arms for her fellows, and use them decisively, deserves all our thanks.
I hope she is held up as an example of why the right to bear arms is so very critical in our society. Without her, and millions like her who everyday carry firearms, our communities would be that much more deadly. If only more people had her level of courage, instead of cowering behind the government.
